Eco Cinema

Film has always been an apt medium for capturing the spectacle and beauty of nature. More recently, cinema with an eco-sensibility has expanded its scope, offering thoughtful meditations on our complex relationship with the non-human world. Drawing on films from the past three decades, explore this unique and arresting cinema that considers nature in all its varied aspects: as a space of wonder, challenge, refuge, and risk. Every week we will watch a carefully selected film, followed by a fun and reflective conversation on what we've just seen. The course is perfect for cinephiles, nature lovers, or anyone in between! Note: The films are international and thus will include subtitles.
