Beginning Cello

Adult beginners -- let's explore the cello! Do you love the sound of the cello? Are you curious about how it feels to be making this beautiful sound? Or did you play the cello as a child and are considering picking it up again? This cello immersion class is for you! You'll learn to hold the cello and bow comfortably and use your senses to create pitch, tone, rhythm, and dynamics. Your instructor, a professional cellist and experienced cello teacher, will play with you, and you’ll experience the joys of making music together from our very first class! No prior musical background or music reading skills are required. This class is for those who love the cello and want to experience playing it firsthand!

Course fee includes three weeks of Saturday group classes PLUS three private or semi-private lessons. Private or semi-private lessons to be scheduled on weekends or weekdays with instructor at students' convenience. The instructor will contact all students upon registration to inquire whether a rental cello is needed or not, and to provide additional rental information. For those who need to rent a cello, she has arranged with Paul Stevens Violins in Ardmore to provide a short-term rental. The rental fee, starting the week of September 14 until October 3 is $127.20 including tax, with an option to extend for a small fee. Please do not under any circumstances consider renting or purchasing an online cello!
