Considering Monet and his contemporaries’ love affair with London, American artists who flocked to Spain and Paris, and Loïs Mailou Jones and other colleague’s visits to Haiti and Africa, we will explore a diverse group of artists who found the culture of new places inspiring! From profoundly different ways of artmaking to impassioned new teaching strategies, artists have used their far-flung experiences to enliven their practice.
