Films about Artists (Coupled)

In this class, we will screen and discuss three dramatic biographical films about real-life visual artists. The artists portrayed are all partnered with a spouse who influences their work in some way, perhaps as inspiration, muse, motivator, accountant, or the opposite. We will look at these entertaining films to see what we can learn about the individual artists, their work, and the creative process. Artists to be considered include: Jackson Pollock, Frida Kahlo, and Maud Lewis.
