This workshop offers concrete lessons on foundational craft elements in short fiction, including plot, narrative tension, character development, dialogue, and theme. In addition to a study of the short story form and reflections on craft elements in specific stories by authors such as Toni Morrison and ZZ Packer, participants will also have the opportunity to craft their own story and submit it for workshop, which involves receiving structured feedback from the instructor and other participants. This class is appropriate for both emerging and established writers.
