As artificial intelligence becomes more prevalent in society, it is more important than ever that we understand not just the benefits of AI, but the ethical concerns of the technology and potential harms it can cause to marginalized communities. In this course, we will take a look at how modern AI systems function and gain a better understanding of how bias becomes a part of these systems and the impact it can cause.

, Ph.D., is a professor of computer science at Temple University. He studies software development, smart systems, and education. He also has over 20 years of experience as a technologist and consultant in private, public, and non-profit sectors.
