In this class, you’ll learn hands-on techniques for removing and replacing broken glass panes in original wood sash windows—an essential skill in a community with many old houses. Is there a broken pane in your home you’ve been wanting to fix? This course will guide you through assessing the damage, creating a repair plan, and safely removing the broken glass. You’ll gain practical skills in cutting glass, installing new panes with glazing putty, and preserving your windows for longevity. Using hand tools and methods that can be easily replicated at home with minimal disruption, you’ll learn essential repair techniques that build confidence in home maintenance—practical, cost-effective skills that support your role as a responsible home steward.

Currently, she serves as Executive Director of Historic RittenhouseTown, a National Historic Landmark. Amy is passionate about empowering homeowners to preserve distinctive features, like historic windows, in their homes.
