The Philadelphia region is rich in museum collections featuring paintings and sculptures that share key artful themes. We will explore vital themes through the work of a diversity of artists: the language of abstraction, look of animals, presence of people, and pride of place. Works from Butterfield, Vermeer, Hung Liu, Soutine, Sherald, and more, show an evolution of styles and interests. By delving into these universal themes, and an array of ‘isms, there is sure to be a fresh take on viewing art in museums. Short engaging videos bring new perspectives to the conversation.
