Myofascial release balls (similar to tennis balls in size and firmness) can be used in a variety of ways that are complimentary to a yoga practice. MFR balls can be used to warm up an area of the body for movement; to increase range of motion; and to decrease soreness. Because MFR techniques work with fascia (connective tissue) in addition to muscle, there are helpful system-wide effects like nervous system relaxation. In this class, we will use MFR balls to warm up a certain area for movement and then focus on range of motion in that area as we move through a sequence of yoga poses. Towards the end of class, we will use MFR techniques for relaxation. Optional Equipment:Two specific balls that could be used for this class: A pair of RAD Recovery Rounds A pair of Yoga Tune Up therapy balls or therapy balls plus I will also have MFR balls to borrow.

Notes:

Optional Equipment: You may purchase your own massage balls (teacher recommends RAD Recovery Rounds or Yoga Tune Up therapy balls), or there will be myofsacial release balls at class for you to borrow.
Fee: $119.00

Unitarian Society of Germantown, 6511 Lincoln Drive

Use 361 W. Johnson St in your GPS. The church is on Lincoln Dr., between Wayne and Hortter, but MALT students need to use the parking lot off Johnson Street between Wayne and Greene Streets and enter the church from the rear of the building. The driveway to the parking lot is on Johnson, right next to the railway bridge, closest to Wayne Ave. It's a long driveway. Park in the last lot and walk up the sidewalk to the 2nd stairway. Walk down the stairs to enter the church. There is a schedule of events posted on this door. That schedule tells you which room you're in. Once inside the church, there is a map on the bulletin board to show where your room is. If the door is locked, please wait until your instructor shows up.

The Route H bus stops less than a block away at Lincoln Drive & Wayne Avenue.
