Many of us are aware that the standard American diet is unhealthy. The epidemic of heart disease, diabetes and cancer is overwhelming, costing billions, and 60% of Americans are overweight. Is there a simple solution to dramatically reduce (and even reverse!) the occurrence of these diseases, and affect obesity at the same time? It turns out there is: the science is IN, and it's the food! Educate yourself about healthier choices and connect with a community of like-minded folks. Each month the optional potluck will be followed by an educational and inspiring documentary and discussion. Films begin promptly at 6:30 PM.

September film: PlantPure Nation is a full length feature film that examines how plant-based nutrition prevents a broad range of diseases and illnesses, and can even reverse high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

October film: What the Health is the groundbreaking follow-up film from the creators of the award-winning documentary Cowspiracy. The film exposes the collusion and corruption in government and big business that is keeping us sick as a nation and is costing us trillions of unnecessary healthcare dollars.

November film: Forks Over Knives examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the so-called "diseases of affluence" that afflict us can be controlled or eliminated by rejecting our current American menu of animal-based and processed foods. The major storyline in the film traces the personal journeys of a pair of pioneering researchers in the science of plant-based nutrition, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.
