This class is a blend of Barre, Pilates, and Yoga, and focuses on core strength and mobility training, all while moving to great music. It is a workout for all fitness levels that will challenge your body from head to toe. The results are improved posture, toning, balance, flexibility, and an overall better feeling about yourself. As a retired professional dancer Karen began teaching these disciplines over 15 years ago. Ballet, Modern Dance and Pilates were blended to create a core workout. After her own experience with losing strength due to an abdominal-area surgery, she is excited to continue teaching this class to others seeking to improve their core strength.

Karen Taylor Young

is a retired professional dancer with over 35 years of experience who currently teaches and choreographs. She is a founding member of Philadanco, and has performed with Opera Company of Philadelphia, and a former musical theater choreographer at Germantown Friends School. She has been teaching Zumba for 14 years and holds 8 Zumba(R) licenses. Karen is Ballet Barre and active senior certified.
