Knitting for Beginners - Make a Winter Hat!

Knitting a Hat in the Round: Learn the basics of knitting and finish a hat! This class is open to true beginners or those that are looking to refresh their skills with a simple pattern. We will cast on, knit, purl, decrease and bind off a hat. After this session, you will be equipped with the skills to tackle many beginning knitting patterns.

Students will need to bring a bulky weight yarn that is at least 87 yards/100 gram. Wool is preferred but any yarn is ok besides cotton. Beginners should not select cotton as it is more difficult to work with. Students will also need to provide needles. If you would like to knit in magic loop (my preferred method) please bring US size 11 circular needles with a 32 inch cord. If not, please bring size US 11 needles on a 16 inch cord, and a set of US 11 double pointed needles. Here is the pattern for the hat we will be knitting!
